Sumathi Sathakam (2026)

Sumathi Sathakam is a 2026 Telugu-language village-based romantic comedy that arrived in theaters on 6 February 2026. Directed by M.M. Nayudu and produced by Sai Sudhakar Kommalapati under the Viision Movie Makers banner, the film marks the big-screen debut of Amardeep Chowdary, widely known for his appearance in Bigg Boss Telugu 7, as a lead actor.

The story is set in the village of Vaikuntapuram in East Godavari. Krishna (Amardeep Chowdary) is a local grocer who is desperate to get married but faces repeated rejection because of his profession. Determined to change his fate, he vows to get married during the local village festival (Jatara). His life takes a hopeful turn when he falls in love with Sumathi (Sayli M. Chaudhari), an Anganwadi teacher from a neighboring village. However, their path to marriage is complicated by a strange supernatural belief: Sumathi is said to be possessed by a local deity, Ammanoru, every Friday, leading to a series of comedic and emotional challenges. The film also features Tasty Teja, Mahesh Vitta, JDV Prasad, and Mirchi Kiran in supporting roles, with music composed by Subhash Anand.
