Roll Rida, whose real name is Rahul Kumar Velpula, is a well-known Indian rapper, lyricist, playback singer, and actor, primarily recognized for his contributions to Telugu cinema and independent music. His friends suggested the stage name Roll Rida, inspired by the American rapper Flo Rida. He gained popularity for blending Telugu lyrics with modern rap styles, creating a distinctive mark in the Indian music scene.
Roll Rida started his career with independent rap tracks that struck a chord with the youth, often incorporating humor and relatable themes about everyday life and social issues. He gained widespread recognition with hits like “Patang” and “Arupu,” which highlighted his lyrical talent and versatility. In 2018, he participated in the Telugu reality show Bigg Boss Season 2, further expanding his fan base.
