Raqueeb Alam

Raqueeb Alam is an Indian lyricist known for his work in both Hindi and South Indian cinema, especially for writing Hindi lyrics for popular dubbed films. He was born in Madhupur, Bihar, and developed a strong interest in music from a young age. In his early days, he performed in local orchestras, which helped him gain experience and confidence before moving to Chennai to pursue a career in the music industry.
His career took a major turn after he met legendary composer A.R. Rahman, which opened new opportunities for him in films. Raqueeb Alam gained wide recognition for writing the Hindi lyrics of the song “Ringa Ringa” from the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire (2008). Since then, he has worked on many projects and built a strong reputation as a skilled lyricist in the Indian music industry.
