Raju Weds Rambai (2025)

Raju Weds Rambai is a 2025 Telugu-language rural romantic drama that turned into a massive sleeper hit. Directed by debutant Saailu Kaampati and produced by Venu Udugula, the film is inspired by a tragic real-life incident from the Telangana region in 2010. The movie stars Akhil Raj Uddemari and Tejaswini Rao in the lead roles, with Chaitu Jonnalagadda, Shivaji Raja, and Anitha Chowdary in key supporting roles. Music for the film is composed by Suresh Bobbili, and it was released theatrically on 21 November 2025.

The story follows Raju (Akhil Raj Uddemari), a carefree youngster who plays drums in his family’s traditional brass band, and Rambai (Tejaswini Rao), a college student. Their innocent love faces strong opposition from Rambai’s father Venkanna (Chaitu Jonnalagadda), a short-tempered government hospital compounder who refuses the match because Raju is not a government employee. Driven by ego, social status, and deep-rooted pride, the conflict slowly turns dark, leading the film toward a shocking and haunting climax that left audiences deeply moved.
