Papon
Papon (real name Angaraag Mahanta) is a versatile Indian singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist from Assam, born on 24 November 1975 in Nagaon, Assam. He hails from a deeply musical family—his father, Khagen Mahanta, was a celebrated Assamese folk singer known as the “King of Bihu,” while his mother, Archana Mahanta, was also a renowned folk artist.
Papon began his career rooted in Assamese folk music and gradually expanded into Hindi films, Bengali music, and several other languages. Over the years, he has become known for his unique blend of folk-fusion, electronic elements, and soulful melodies.
