Nawabs Cafe (2026)

Nawabs Cafe is a 2026 Telugu-language emotional family drama that was released in theatres on 20 February 2026. The film is directed by debutant Pramod Harsha and features music composed by Prashanth R. Vihari. It stars Shiva Kandukuri and Teju Ashwini in the lead roles, while veteran actor Rajeev Kanakala plays an important role as the father. Before its release, the film gained attention because of a title controversy. It was originally titled Chai Wala, but the makers later changed the name to Nawabs Cafe after objections from the Censor Board.

The story follows Raja (Shiva Kandukuri), a young man who feels frustrated with his family’s 400-year-old tea shop located in the Old City of Hyderabad and dreams of settling in the United States. However, his life changes after the sudden death of his father, Ranganath (Rajeev Kanakala). Raja is forced to take responsibility for the cafe and slowly begins to understand the legacy, struggles, and emotional value that his father spent his entire life protecting.
