MM Keeravani
Koduri Marakathamani Keeravaani, also known as MM Keeravani, Maragathamani and MM Kreem, is an acclaimed Indian music composer, singer, and lyricist, predominantly working in Telugu cinema, with contributions to Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam films. He was born on July 4, 1961, in Kovvur, Andhra Pradesh, into a family with a filmmaking background. He is cousin of director SS Rajamouli. His son Kaala Bhairava is a singer and composer, while his other son, Sri Simha, is an actor.
He began his career as an assistant music director in 1987, with his first notable break coming from Manasu Mamatha (1990), but it was Ram Gopal Varma’s Kshana Kshanam (1991) that cemented his reputation as a leading composer. He received the Oscar for Best Original Song for “Naatu Naatu” from the Indian film RRR (2022).
