Mirai (2025)

Mirai (meaning “Hope for the Future” in Japanese) is a 2025 Telugu-language fantasy superhero adventure that further established Teja Sajja as a major star after the success of Hanu-Man. Directed by Karthik Gattamneni, the film is deeply rooted in Indian history and Buddhist lore. The cast includes Manchu Manoj in a powerful comeback role as the Black Sword, Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, and Jayaram. Music for the film is composed by Gowra Hari, and it was released theatrically on 12 September 2025.

The story draws inspiration from the legend of Emperor Ashoka and his mysterious “Secret Nine,” guardians of sacred books containing divine knowledge capable of turning a human into a god. Mahabir Lama (Manchu Manoj), driven by years of rejection and rage, has already captured six of these books and seeks the final one, Mirai, to gain immortality. Standing against him is Vedha (Teja Sajja), a destined “Super Yodha” sworn to protect the scriptures. The film received strong praise for its high-quality visual effects, especially the stunning Garuda sequences and intense action battles, making it a standout fantasy spectacle.
