Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (also known as Hridayam) is a grand-scale Indian devotional drama film that was released in theatres on 7 May 2026. Directed by Hardik Gajjar, with music composed by Prasad S., the film stars Siddharth Gupta, Sushmitha Bhat, Nivaashiyni Krishnan, and debutant Sanskruti Jayana. Based on Raam Mori’s 2025 novel Satyabhama, the movie serves as the first chapter of an ambitious mythological trilogy centered on the life, relationships, and teachings of Lord Krishna.

Unlike many mythological films that focus mainly on miracles and battles, Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart explores the emotional side of Krishna’s journey. Using a modern-day framing story, a temple priest at the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri narrates Krishna’s life to a skeptical young visitor. The film then moves into the past, portraying Krishna’s divine bond with Radha in Vrindavan, his separation from her, and his later life as the ruler of Dwarka alongside Rukmini and Satyabhama. Through these relationships, the story traces Krishna’s transformation from a joyful young lover into a wise philosopher, trusted counselor, and compassionate leader.
