Kaalidhar Laapata (2025)

Kaalidhar Laapata is a Hindi-language family drama directed by Madhumita, based on her own 2019 Tamil film KD. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan as Kaalidhar, a middle-aged man suffering from memory loss. After overhearing his own family’s cruel plan to abandon him due to his condition, Kaalidhar runs away and embarks on a journey that changes his life forever.

Along the way, he forms an unlikely and heartwarming friendship with Ballu (Daivik Bhagela), a spirited and street-smart eight-year-old orphan. This chance encounter revitalizes Kaalidhar, as the two find joy and healing by checking off items on Kaalidhar’s bucket list, while his regretful family searches for him. Kaalidhar Laapata was released on July 4, 2025 as a Direct-to-Digital release on ZEE5. The film’s music is composed by Amit Trivedi (songs) and Tajdar Junaid (background score).
