Jyoti Nooran
Jyoti Nooran, born on February 24, 1994, in Jalandhar, Punjab, is a renowned Indian Sufi singer and one half of the acclaimed Nooran Sisters duo. She comes from a distinguished lineage of musicians; her great-grandmother, Bibi Nooran, and grandfather, Swarn Nooran, were celebrated folk singers of Punjab. Under the guidance of her father, Ustad Gulshan Mir, Jyoti began her musical journey at the tender age of five.
The Nooran Sisters’ rise to fame started with their appearance on Doordarshan Punjabi’s Jashan Di Raat in 2005. However, their breakthrough moment came in 2012 with the hit song Tung Tung on MTV India’s MTV Sound Trippin. Jyoti, along with her sister Sultana Nooran, gained widespread recognition for her versatility in singing Sufi, folk, and Bollywood songs. Their biggest success came with Patakha Guddi from the movie Highway (2014), which earned them numerous awards and cemented their place in the Indian music industry.
