Idli Kottu (2025)

Idli Kottu is a Telugu-language family drama, originally shot in Tamil as Idli Kadai, written, directed, and co-produced by Dhanush. Marking his fourth directorial venture, the film reunites him with Nithya Menen after their much-loved chemistry in the 2022 hit Thiru (Thiruchitrambalam in Tamil). The film stars Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Sathyaraj, and Rajkiran, with music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. It was released theatrically on 1 October 2025.

The story follows Murali (Dhanush), an ambitious young man who leaves his village and his father’s famous idli shop to chase a corporate culinary career in Bangkok. Working under a powerful food tycoon (Sathyaraj), Murali is even set to marry his boss’s daughter (Shalini Pandey). However, a sudden tragedy forces him to return home, where he embarks on an emotional journey to revive his father’s humble idli shop. Along the way, he clashes with an arrogant rival (Arun Vijay) and reconnects with his past love, Kalyani (Nithya Menen), turning the film into a heartfelt story of roots, relationships, and redemption.
