Heer Sara (2026)

Heer Sara is a Hindi-language slice-of-life road trip drama that was released in theatres on 12 June 2026. Written and directed by debutant Kartik Chaudhry, the film was originally titled Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry before being renamed to Heer Sara following objections from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie stars Maanvi Gagroo, Patralekha, Shweta Salve, and Arif Zakaria in important roles. Using the backdrop of a long road journey, the film explores themes of self-discovery, friendship, and personal freedom.

The story follows Sara (Patralekha), a young woman from Indore who feels emotionally distant from her father and remains deeply affected by the absence of her mother, who left when she was a child. After discovering a clue that her mother may be living in Pondicherry, Sara sets out on a cross-country bike trip to find her. Along the way, she meets Heer (Maanvi Gagroo), a spirited and outspoken woman travelling to Pondicherry to stop her boyfriend’s wedding. As their journey continues, the two strangers develop a strong bond and support each other through personal struggles. Through heartfelt conversations and humorous moments, Heer Sara addresses issues such as body shaming, gender expectations, and the social pressures women often face, turning their road trip into a touching story of friendship and empowerment.
