Dude (2025)

Dude is a 2025 Tamil-language romantic comedy-drama that was also released in Telugu with the same title. Directed by debutant Keerthiswaran and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film stars Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. The cast also includes R. Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, and Neha Shetty. Music for the film is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, and it was released theatrically on 17 October 2025 as a Diwali special.

The story follows Agan (Pradeep Ranganathan) and his cousin Kural (Mamitha Baiju), childhood best friends who run a surprise-event planning company called “Surprise Dude.” The narrative takes a bold and controversial turn when Kural confesses her love for Agan and is rejected. By the time Agan realizes his feelings, Kural has moved on and is pregnant by another man, Paari (Hridhu Haroon). To protect her from her powerful and caste-driven father (R. Sarathkumar), Agan enters into a fake marriage with Kural and devotes himself to helping her future with Paari. The film sparked widespread discussion for its risky storytelling, themes of sacrifice, and its take on modern, progressive relationships.
