Draupathi 2 (2026)

Draupathi 2 is a 2026 Tamil-language historical action-drama directed by Mohan G. The film was released in theaters on 23 January 2026 and was also dubbed in Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. It serves as both a spiritual successor and a thematic prequel to the 2020 film Draupathi, shifting away from contemporary themes to explore a grand historical narrative.

The story is set in the 14th century during the reign of the Hoysala emperor Veera Vallala III. It follows the resistance of the Kadavaraya warriors of Senthamangalam against the invading forces of the Madurai and Delhi Sultanates. Richard Rishi plays King Veera Simha Kadavarayan, a warrior leader determined to protect his land, culture, and identity. Through its historical backdrop, the film explores themes of cultural heritage, territorial integrity, and resistance. The music is composed by Ghibran Vaibodha.
