Dhandoraa (2025)

Dhandoraa is a 2025 Telugu-language rural social drama written and directed by debutant Muralikanth Devasoth and produced by Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni. The film was widely praised as one of the most thought-provoking releases of the year for its bold exploration of caste discrimination and the idea of dignity even after death. The cast includes Sivaji, Nandu, Navdeep, Bindu Madhavi, Ravi Krishna, and Manika Chikkala, with music composed by Mark K. Robin. The film was released theatrically on 25 December 2025.

The story unfolds across two timelines. In the present, Vishnu (Nandu) returns to his native village in Medak to perform the last rites of his estranged father Shivaji (Sivaji). Through intense flashbacks set in 2004, Shivaji is revealed as a rigid upper-caste extremist whose obsession with social hierarchy destroys his daughter Sujatha’s (Manika Chikkala) love for a lower-caste man, Ravi (Ravi Krishna). The narrative takes a striking turn by focusing on the unrest and political drama surrounding Shivaji’s cremation, exposing how caste pride and discrimination continue to dominate lives—even beyond death.
