DC (2026)

DC (short for Devadas & Chandra) is a Tamil-language romantic action-crime thriller that was released worldwide in theatres on 7 August 2026. The film was also released in a Telugu-dubbed version. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, and produced by Sun Pictures, the film marks the acting debut of acclaimed filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj in a lead role. Loosely inspired by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel Devdas and the real-life outlaw duo Bonnie and Clyde, the movie combines romance, crime, revenge, and neo-noir elements.

The story follows Devadas, known as Das (Lokesh Kanagaraj), a ruthless outlaw, and Chandra (Wamiqa Gabbi), a woman who has endured exploitation and transforms into a determined fighter. Brought together by shared trauma and a desire to survive, the two form an unlikely partnership after the tragic death of someone close to them. They launch a violent campaign against corrupt law enforcement and powerful criminal syndicates, gradually becoming fugitives hunted by the state’s entire police force. As their fight for revenge intensifies, their relationship evolves into something deeper, blurring the boundaries between vengeance, freedom, and love. DC presents a gritty story of two damaged individuals who find companionship while challenging a world built on violence and betrayal.
