Daadi Ki Shaadi (2026)

Daadi Ki Shaadi (transl. “Grandmother’s Wedding”) is a Hindi-language family comedy-drama that was released in theatres on 8 May 2026. Directed by Ashish R. Mohan, the film stars Neetu Kapoor, Kapil Sharma, Sarath Kumar, Sadia Khateeb, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni in important roles. The movie received special attention because it marked the acting debut of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Ranbir Kapoor‘s sister, and the return of veteran actress Neetu Kapoor, his mother, to the big screen after four years.

Set in the beautiful town of Shimla, the story follows 72-year-old Vimla Ahuja (Neetu Kapoor), who lives a lonely life while missing her children who have settled in Delhi. A simple mistake on social media turns into a viral sensation when a post meant to celebrate a relative’s wedding is misunderstood as an announcement of her own marriage. The confusion brings her family rushing back home, including her daughter Sunaina (Riddhima Kapoor Sahni) and Tony (Kapil Sharma), a man unexpectedly caught in the drama. What begins as a humorous misunderstanding gradually becomes a heartfelt journey as Vimla chooses to pursue love, companionship, and happiness on her own terms.
