Chiranjeevi
Konidela Chiranjeevi, originally named Konidela Sivasankara Varaprasad, was born on August 22, 1955, in Mogalthur, a village in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Renowned as the “Mega Star”, he is one of the most influential figures in Telugu cinema, admired for his dynamic acting and iconic dance moves.
His father, Konidela Venkata Rao, served as a constable. Chiranjeevi began his film career in 1978, starting with smaller roles, but it was the 1983 blockbuster Khaidi that propelled him to stardom, marking a turning point in his career.
In addition to his cinematic achievements, Chiranjeevi has made significant contributions as a philanthropist and politician. He established the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust on October 2, 1998, which is now a leading initiative for blood and eye donation in the Telugu states. Entering politics in 2008, he founded the Praja Rajyam Party, which made notable gains in the 2009 state elections before merging with the Indian National Congress in 2011.
