Chinmayi Sripada
Chinmayi Sripada is an Indian singer, voice actress, and entrepreneur, primarily known for her contributions to Tamil and Telugu cinema. She was born in Mumbai and learned Carnatic and Hindustani classical music. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Madras and is also an accomplished Odissi dancer.
Chinmayi began her playback singing career with A. R. Rahman’s “Oru Dheivam Thanta Poove” from Kannathil Muthamittal (2002) and made her Bollywood debut with “Holi Re” from Mangal Pandey: The Rising (2005). Besides her artistic pursuits, she is a social activist and a significant voice in India’s #MeToo movement. Chinmayi married actor Rahul Ravindran in 2014.
