Azad Bharath (2026) is a historical drama directed and produced by the award-winning filmmaker Roopa Iyer. The film serves as a powerful cinematic tribute to the unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle. It stars Shreyas Talpade as the iconic revolutionary Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, while Roopa Iyer herself plays the lead role of Neera Arya, a fearless freedom fighter who became part of the Rani Jhansi Regiment. The cast also includes veteran actor Suresh Oberoi as Chhaju Ramji, along with Priyanshu Chatterjee and Indira Tiwari.

The narrative focuses on the inspiring and often overlooked life of Neera Arya, highlighting her journey within the first women’s army founded by Netaji and her immense contribution to the independence movement. With music composed by Gautham Srivatsaa and a special rendition of the national anthem performed by Amruta Fadnavis, the film aims to evoke deep patriotism and honor the courage, unity, and sacrifices of those whose stories history has largely forgotten. This film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 2 January 2026.
